  • We test the primary use cases the tool is designed for
  • We use the tool in real workflows, not contrived scenarios
  • We test across different plan tiers when relevant

Step 3: Security & Privacy Review

  • We read the privacy policy and terms of service
  • We check data handling practices (where data is stored, who has access)
  • We evaluate admin controls and team management features
  • We note SOC 2, GDPR compliance, and other certifications

Step 4: Pricing Analysis

  • We document all pricing tiers with actual current prices
  • We calculate cost per user for team scenarios
  • We identify hidden costs (add-ons, overage charges, required upgrades)
  • We compare value against direct competitors

Step 5: Support Testing

  • We contact customer support with a real question
  • We note response time and quality
